If you're like me, most of the time when you realise you're running low on something, you're probably cooking. You'd add it straight into your notes, so you don't forget for later, but you're hands are probably covered in some ingredient you don't want to get all over your phone. By the time you've finished washing up, you've forgotten what it was that you wanted to put on your shopping list in the first place!

With Trolley Space and Siri, this is a thing of the past!

How it works

Anytime you want to add something to your favourite (see below) shopping list on Trolley Space say: "Hey Siri, add item to my list on Trolley Space" - Siri will do all the hard work for you - by the time you've opened the app the new item will be in your list waiting for you. You can add up to 3 items at a time.

Configuration

Favourite Shopping List

Siri will always add your items to your favourite shopping list. Your favorite shopping list can be configured by:

  1. opening the app (make sure you are logged in)
  2. tapping on the 'Settings' tab (bottom of the screen, far right)
  3. tapping on the 'Favourites' menu item
  4. tapping your favourite shopping list

As a bonus, your favourite shopping list will be the first list to show whenever you log in, or re-open the app after 15 minutes of inactivity.

Item tags

Once an item has been added to any shopping list within your household, any tags that you have assigned to that item will be remembered. Whenever you add that item to any of your lists, Trolley Space will remember those tags. This also works with Siri - if you use Siri to add an item to your favourite list that was previously tagged, Siri will remember those tags and tag it for you.

Common issues

  1. You must be logged into the app to use the Siri integration
  2. You must be connected to the internet to use the Siri integration
  3. You must use the phrase "Hey Siri, add item to my list on Trolley Space" - if you don't include the 'to my list' part then Siri will not understand.
